Ending loneliness

Group Daenens works with Mintus in supporting the “Opendeurenbrugge” social project. This steers elderly customers facing loneliness towards Bruges’s “open doors”. These are friendly and welcoming spaces where seniors can meet other people in a simple and accessible way, to have a chat, a (free) coffee, do some DIY, play games, dance or simply find someone to talk to. Our home helps really enjoy taking their customers to these spots on their weekly visits. This is currently a pilot project in Bruges, in collaboration with the non-profit organisation Mintus, but it could well become a bedrock throughout Flanders. Do you agree that the loneliness of seniors is something that deserves our attention?
